Not every image works: some lose their outline in black and stop reading. We look at it and come back to you — no obligation, no charge.

How it works

How to turn your photo into a piece of your own.

  1. You write through the contact form and tell us the scene, with the image attached. The bigger and sharper, the better.

  2. We work out whether it’s possible: if the silhouette isn’t going to read, we say so and suggest another way of telling it.

  3. You see the cut-out before it’s made. We send you the silhouette and the quote, and we keep adjusting until you’re happy.

  4. We add your words, if you want them: text engraved on the base, up to 40 characters on the front and up to 600 on the back.

What works

All three whole, standing against the sea: each one cuts out on its own, with no background touching the outline.
  • The whole figure, nothing in front of it.
  • A profile or a pose you’d know anywhere.
  • A light background, well clear of the subject.
  • The original photo, not a screenshot.

What gets tricky

All three overlap, the street touches their outline everywhere, and what you’d want to look at is their faces: in black, none of that survives.
  • Tight groups: they merge into a single block.
  • Backgrounds with things touching the subject and eating into the outline.
  • Small or heavily compressed photos from a messaging app.
  • Scenes that only work through colour or a face.
